Last week Slanguage visited Baltimore, Maryland  to do a site visit for an upcoming project next year 2011.

Thanks to Irene Hoffman, The Baltimore Contemporary Museum Director who invited us to do a project. We toured the city, ate lots of crab cakes and saw an Orioles Baseball game V.I. P! Can’t wait till next year!

Please join us this Saturday, August 14, 2010 as ASAP along with LACE hosts an all ages workshop with Slanguage member Karla Diaz.

Karla will share her background in theater and spoken word for everyone to enjoy and learn how to  express creativity through words and performance.

Check out the details for this exciting family event…

This workshop, led by Karla Diaz from Slanguage, asks audiences to engage in examining performance by guiding students to explore negative words in contemporary pop culture. Diaz will introduce drop-in audiences to a variety of performance techniques that Slanguage members use to critically explore content and context in an effort for social change. Participants will learn and practice performance techniques based on theater practices and spoken  word. Please expect to be participating physically at the level that is comfortable for you, and dress accordingly for movement.
